Education Problem In Indonesian

         Jakarta, CNN Indonesian - Indonesian is a country that has a high birth rate where the younger generation is our hope to develop this country and hope they also achieve the highest education. But in the era of globalization has changed the way people think, which tends to leave the culture of eastern. This is when education becomes important.



Education is one of the important factors of a country's dignity. With good education will certainly give birth to the next generation of intelligent and competent nation in its field. So the condition of the nation will continue to improve with the successor generation of the nation that qualified in various sciences.

Education is a right and a duty which every human being must perform. From education a person will learn to be a character and have a high education and social sciences.

The quality of education in Indonesian today is very alarming. This is evidenced, among others, by the UNESCO (2000) data on the Human Development Index ranking, which is the composition of education, health, and head-earning achievement. In fact, Indonesian's human development index is declining. Among the 174 countries in the world, Indonesian ranks 102 (1996), 99th (1997), 105th (1998), and 109th (1999).

AcCOrding to a survey oF P0litical and Ec0n0mic Risk C0nsultant (PERC), the quality of education in Indonesiann is ranked 12th out of 12 countries in Asian. Indonesian's position is under Vietnam. Data reported The World Economic Forum Sweden (2000), Indonesiann has a low competitiveness, which is only ranked 37 out of 57 countries surveyed in the world.

Entering the 21st century the world of education in Indonesian excited. The fur0r is n0t caused by the greatness 0f the quality 0f nati0nal educati0n but more due to awareness of the dangers of underdeveloped education in Indonesiann.
The technological advancements and changes that have taken place give us a new awareness that Indonesiann is no longer independent.

Indonesian is in the midst of a new world, open world so that people are free to compare life with other countries. Therefore, we should be able to improve the human resources of Indonesian that is not less competitive with human resources in other countries.

The causes 0f the l0w quality of educations in Indonesian include the pr0blem 0f effectiveness, efficiency and standardizati0n 0f teaching. It is still a problem of education in Indonesian in general. In addition to the less creative of educators in guiding students, the centralized curriculum makes the portrait of education more opaque.

The curriculum is based only on government knowledge without regard to the needs of the community. Education is unable to produce creative graduates. The curriculum is made in Jakarta and does not pay attention to conditions in the community down or in the area to remote areas there.
So the graduates are only smart looking for work and can not create their own jobs.

Though employment is limited. The fundamental problem of education in Indonesian is the imbalance between thinking (cognitive) learning and learning behaviors that feel (affective). Learning is not just thinking but doing various activities such as observing, comparing, dubious, likes, passion and so on.
There are at least some problems that can be identified in our education: low quality of physical facilities, low quality of teachers, low teacher welfare, low student achievement, low educational equity, low education relevance to needs, and expensive education costs.

There are some external impacts that can affect education that is political, economic, social, technological, legal and environmental.

Politics can also have a negative impact on education where the government issues a policy such as providing free school funding but the funds do not reach the right hands, either because of hard funds or corruption.

Economics, where still circulating school books or books for students who are expensive, from there can make it difficult for the less fortunate. Lack of uneven distribution of scholarships in some regions of Indonesian where there are still many remote areas in desperate need.

Social, lack of awareness in every human being about the importance of education, because the social sense is still less to those who are unable to continue their education. There are still many who put aside education, even though we all know education is important. And people who can be said to be able to help, but their hearts are less moved to build a social school that is destined for underprivileged children, street children or the like because of a lack of social sense.

Technology, with rapid development requires us to be more active in following developments. In the world of technology education has had a very positive impact because it began to show significant changes. Because there is already an E-book and E-learning makes it easy for us to learn.

Law, enforcement of a rule because there is still a lot of violence in the school environment, or now the release of news about bullying at one of the leading universities in Jakarta. Several published books are targeted at school children in which there are sexual elements. A teacher who should be a role model for his students but we still find news about the violence given by a teacher to school children.

The environment, like a characteristic environment, is crucial to the development of the individual who supports God's love and all of His creation, independence, responsibility, honesty, respect and courtesy are very important in the world of education. And family is the first institution where children build their character.

This conclusion from the world view of Indonesiann education is still far from worthy. In all aspects of the factors discussed there are still many problems that must be addressed. The quality of education is still very difficult to improve. Therefore we need to rebuild the foundation of our thinking patterns to increase awareness of the importance of education, the surrounding community must also support it.

Improving the quality of education by knowing in advance what the importance of education is and having high awareness and participating in improving education. The younger generation has a heavy duty because it has to be the successor to a civilized nation.

Several factors and information have been discussed, knowing why the quality of education in Indonesian is said to be weak or low and the people are either parents, children, will prioritize education. But actually the fundamental problem of education in Indonesian is the education system in Indonesian itself that makes the students as objects, so that humans generated from this system is a man who is only ready to meet the needs of the times and not be critical of his day.

So here is needed cooperation between government and society to overcome all the problems of education in Indonesian. And make the people of Indonesian have a good quality education, and improve the quality of education in Indonesian. (Ded / ded)
